Elite Ranking Pro Slalom Tournament
Kaiafas International Cup
2005 will
be a three round slalom tournament plus a Head-to-Head competition counting
for Elite Ranking Points. The event
will be held in 2 days from 16 till 17 of July in the magnificent lake of
Kaiafas. All skiers can compete
in the 3 rounds. The Head-to-Head
challenge will be for the 8 best men and the 4 best women who will compete for
the cash prize.
Tournament Qualifications
Scores:
Entry is open to any skiers -
Men Slalom Skier who has skied 6 buoys / 11.25m
/ 58km
Women Slalom Skier who has skied 6 buoys / 12.00m / 55km
(All performances must have been achieved in a record
tournament as 15 July 2005)
Maximum number of
competitors:
Men Slalom Skiers- 25
Women Slalom Skiers- 15
VAG10
reserve the right to offer any wild card entries to the event.
Entry Fee:
The entry fee is 100$.
The entry fee is waived for any skier who is ranked in the Top 10
on the Elite World Rankings lists as of 15th July 2005.
3 Round Slalom :
In
the 3 round slalom competition men will be competing for a total purse of
$15,000 and the women will be competing for a total purse of $10,000. Prize break down will be done according to
the top 8 results in Men and 4 top results in Women. (Based on the top scores
out of the 3 rounds)
All skiers must compete in at least 2 out of the 3 rounds in
order to be eligible for the Head-to-Head Challenge.

Head-to-Head
Challenge:
Competitors will be ranked by their top score from the 3
rounds. The top 8 scoring men and top 4 scoring women will compete in the
Head-to-Head Challenge on Sunday.
The Head-to-Head match-up order will be according to the
I.W.S.F. 2005 rulebook on paragraph 17.01
Tournament Schedule:
Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday: skiers training after arrangements
with the organisers
Friday
afternoon: Visit to ancient Olympia.
Friday
evening 20:00: Welcome cocktail
Saturday:
1st and 2nd round of Slalom
Saturday
evening: Traditional Greek Dinner for Officials and Skiers
Sunday:
3rd round of Slalom and Head to Head,
Sunday
afternoon: Prize giving ceremony
Sunday
22:00: Final beach-party
Travel and Lodging:
-Complementary
airport pick up Athens-Kaiafas-Athens is available to the competitors who send
VAG10 their travel plans before the 6th of July 2005.
-The
top 10 male & female Elite Competitors, are eligible to free accommodation
from Thursday 14th until Sunday 17th to the Hotel near
the competition site.
-Lunch
will be provided for all competitors on Saturday and Sunday during the
competition in the competition area.
Training:
-The
top 10 male & 10 female Elite Competitors, are eligible to free practice on
Thursday & Friday prior to the competition.
-The
non Elite Skiers are kindly asked to fill in the “Intention to train” form with
the dates, the number of sets per day required and send it to the e-mail
mentioned in the bottom of the form.
Registration:
Elite
Skiers wishing to register for the tournament need to notify VAG10 of their
intentions by Friday 1st of July. After the 1st of July
vacancies will open for non Elite skiers.
